Building Community Value (BCV) is proud to welcome Michael Alan Williams to our team this summer as our Harvard Fellow. Michael will support BCV’s executive team in all real estate development projects, whether in the planning or implementation stages, and in administration of our community-based programming, including our real estate training program Better Buildings, Better Blocks.

Michael is a native Detroiter and recent MBA graduate from the Harvard Business School (HBS). He is passionate about making the communities in which we live more beautiful, equitable, and sustainable, with a special focus on economic and social justice for Black communities. Michael has participated in and led civic engagement and community development projects in Detroit as well as South Africa, Germany, Poland, and Vietnam.

In his most recent role before business school, Michael served in the New York City Mayor's Office as the sole senior analyst for OneNYC - a comprehensive, multi-billion dollar plan funding over 200 initiatives to address New York's profound social, economic, and environmental challenges. This fall, Michael will partake in an HBS-sponsored leadership fellowship as special assistant to the CEO of The Kresge Foundation.

Michael is thrilled to return to his hometown and engage in the equitable development of Detroit's neighborhoods through BCV.
